Fun Facts:
Kakapo are the world's only flightless parrot and one of the longest living (up to 90 years).

They are nocturnal and herbivores. Having evolved on a oceanic island, with few predators and abundant food, they became the world's heaviest parrot and lost their ability to fly, but how ever they have developed into excellent climbers.

The entire surviving population is now carefully monitored and resided on a predator free island off the coast of New Zealand.

They are classed as critically- endangered
